Ron Hanks


Ron is an actor and producer whose 2018 short-form television series Broken was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Ron earned a BA in English & Theatre from Lyon College and his MFA in Acting from Chicago’s Depaul University. His full-length feature film I’m OK won Best Sci-Fi Film at the Bare Bones Film Festival, and he took his first short film, Dirt Eaters, to the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

Ron has over 40 on-screen credits and ten national commercials. His acting credits include Winterthorne which received 3 Daytime Emmy Nominations, SYFY channel’s Disaster LA, FOX’s Hotel Hell with Gordon Ramsey, The Doctors (CBS), Killer Outbreaks (Discovery), and the viral online sketch from Why Can’t You Use Phones on Planes? which has over 157 million views. Ron was nominated for two ISA awards and won Best Actor at the 2017 Hollyweb Fest for his 3-season-comedy-series Golden California which is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

Ron has worked behind-the-scenes for numerous game shows and pilots including Sudden Millionaire with Kelsey Grammer, Take it All with Howie Mandel (NBC), Million Second Quiz (NBC), and 6 seasons of Hollywood Game Night (NBC) with Jane Lynch who has won 2 Primetime Emmy awards for the show.

Recently, Ron completed producing the short horror film Beautiful Day along with the short-form comedy series Before We Go, starring Lee Garlington. His upcoming projects include producing the full-length feature film The Bachelorette Party in Seattle along with a documentary feature about a paraplegic man’s journey to complete the 2019 LA Marathon with the use of an exoskeleton. Ron is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Actor’s Equity Association, and the Television Academy.
